Among the subjects that make up High School Education, Physics and Mathematics are well known for the difficulty students encounter in assimilating their most basic concepts. This same difficulty extends to the early periods of university courses in higher education, where Physics and Mathema-tics are integral parts of the curriculum, such as in Natural Sciences and Engineering. This work pre-sents a diagnostic survey applied to graduates of High School who enrolled in Physics courses in the early semesters at the Universidade Federal do Piauí, Campus Professora Cinobelina Elvas (UFPI/CPCE), Bom Jesus, PI. This work was developed as a Graduation Completion Project for the specialization in Teaching Physics and Mathematics at Centro Universitário UniBF. The objective of the questionnaire is to assess the students’ knowledge of Physics and Mathematics acquired during High School, as well as to examine some conditions of the teaching-learning process of these curricu-lar components. Finally, a discussion is presented on the students' responses, showing a satisfactory understanding of the basic concepts at the level addressed by the questionnaire.
