Astronomy is considered to be the oldest science and its first records date back to ancient times, when many scientific explanations were based on mystical aspects and observation of the day/night sky. As far as astronomy teaching is concerned, its first records date back to the 1970s, through the first thesis in the field and the Campinas Science Museum. Since then, there have been various discussions and insertions into the Basic Education curriculum, making astronomy increasingly present in everyday school life. On the other hand, agendas related to Astrology have been increasingly present in basic education and, consequently, in university centers, signaling the need to explain the difference between Astronomy and Astrology. With this in mind, this workshop aims to address the differences between Astronomy and Astrology, using different practical activities as didactic resources, such as the use of models and sky simulators. At the end of the workshop, it is hoped that participants will be able to distinguish between astronomy and astrology, and point out the main differences between them. Finally, the workshop leader should know how to deconstruct astrology in the classroom through practice, observation and criticality, as well as highlighting the main aspects related to astronomy.
