Abstract

The purpose of this bibliographic study, through a literature review on the subject, is to discuss issues related to teacher training in Brazil today, permeating educational practices and pedagogical challenges, based on publications and legal documents that discuss and guide this training process. It also seeks to discuss current trends in teacher training, with an emphasis on new technologies in education, distance learning, diversity and the inclusion of students with special needs as a process of professional training and the importance of continuing training to update and improve teaching. The results showed the need to maintain initial and continuing training connected to information and communication technologies, as well as behavioral studies that increasingly allow us to understand society and its relationships, as a way for educators to be increasingly prepared to face the challenges and opportunities of today, thus strengthening the educational system.
