This article aims to analyze the participation of evangelicals in Brazilian politics from a biblical-ethical perspective. The method used will be bibliographical research. Given the significant increase in the number of evangelicals in Brazil, especially since the 1970s and 1980s, there has been a significant insertion of these religious people in the Brazilian political sphere. In general, churches used to understand that religion should not be associated with politics. However, Christian individuals have participated in political life, and it is possible to observe both good and bad examples of this, which directly or indirectly influences the perception of Christianity. In some cases, evangelical churches have directly supported certain candidates, influencing their voters through religious messages. The Evangelical caucus in the National Congress has increased its participation, with a conservative discourse, but currently there are also other discourses that differ from the right-wing position. By analyzing the political participation of evangelicals in Brazil, it can be concluded that the conduct of politicians who claim to be Christians can contribute to the Christian Church having a positive impact and achieving the necessary religious freedom to preach the Gospel if they remain faithful to biblical precepts and do not use power for their own benefit.
